Dr. Rosa brings expertise on trauma after brain injury to The WAVE

Scott Rosa, DC, is among the nationally-acclaimed chiropractors who will be speaking at The WAVE this summer. His 32 years of experience in chiropractic care, plus tenures on boards at the Trauma Imaging Foundation, the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, make him among the most respected practitioners in chiropractic.

Dr. Rosa has developed what he calls a Patented Advanced Trauma Imaging Procedure that uses motion X-ray and an upright MRI for looking at soft tissue injuries after head or neck trauma. Dr. Rosa has also developed and patented a technique called Image-Guided Atlas Treatment, or IGAT, which utilizes upright MRI imaging to find certain points where an adjustment can correct misalignments at the craniocervical junction.

A 2012 recipient of the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) Upper Cervical Research Chiropractor of the Year award, Dr. Rosa’s work has reached a national audience after the 2016 ESPN 30 for 30 film, “The ’85 Bears.” The movie showed how his team’s efforts helped ease the pain of former NFL star Jim McMahon, whose severe headaches were ultimately traced to misalignments of vertebrae in his neck that were found using Dr. Rosa’s technique, IGAT.

Attendees of Dr. Rosa’s presentation, “Atlas Orthogonal Adjusting Procedures,” will earn a 1-hour CE live credit. His talk will discuss neuro-radiographic observations, aberrant biomechanical observations, neuro-vascular anomalies, detection and correction of C0-C1 and C1-C2 misalignments, and pre- and post-C1 correction studies of Atlas Orthogonal Adjusting.

Additionally, Dr. Rosa will explain the benefits of CSF flow studies in observations of neuro-inflammatory and neuro-degenerative brain diseases. His expertise and accomplishments in his field speak to the theme of The WAVE, The Science, Philosophy and Art of Chiropractic: The Salutogenic Model.

The WAVE is scheduled for Aug. 16-18 at the Oakland Marriott City Center in Oakland, California. Register for The WAVE 2019 at lifewestwave.com.
